The life and Career of the American Singer Debbie Gibson 


American singer-songwriter, record producer and actress was born on august 31st 1970. The multi-talented gifted American songbird has been in the music industry for a long time and has made a name for herself but even that aside she has featured in quite a number of high profile and thrilling films in different roles which she played with excellence and perfection. Growing up in the long island suburb of Merrick, at the age of 5 she had shown great interest in music, in fact she had started performing in community theatre with her supportive sisters.
Debby recorded her debut album “out of the blues” in the year 1987, which went ahead to become one of the industry classics-an album which to this date Debby Gibson is still proud of. Four of her songs from “out of the blues” album featured in the billboard’s top one hundred and each of them went ahead to claim the top five positions.

This success in itself was the perfect manifestation of Debbie’s remarkable talent and even though the American songbird went ahead to establish a glittering Acting career, it is clear that Debbie’s road to stardom was deeply rooted to her remarkable achievements in the music career. Debbie’s acting career kicked off in amazing fashion when the actress featured in a Broadway on stage role in 1992 before moving to London where she played the role of sandy in a British film called Grease. Debbie’s career had already kicked off. The multi-talented American went ahead to feature in many different roles and established her identity as one of the world’s most talented actors.

The personal life of Debbie did not feature a lot in the front pages of many newspapers –the American was best popular for her music and acting career. Despite being caught across a number of controversies, Debbie went ahead into an engagement with her longtime lover Jonathan counterman-an engagement that never materialized to marriage. However, the fallout of Debbie’s engagement did not affect her illustrious career in acting and singing career.

Debbie had a lot of achievements both in her singing and acting career. Aside from being the youngest songwriter ever to have a number one song in the billboards, Debbie also won two awards. The first one was the debut album of the year won in New York music awards in the year 1989 as well as the debut artist of the year in the same awards. In the year 1990, she was nominated the favorite female music performer  in the people’s choice awards and went ahead to win the rock producer of the year award in the American songwriter awards. 

Furthermore, Debbie was nominated the best pop female vocalist in the American music awards .In addition to Debbie’s successful career and achievements; she also dedicated a lot of her time and resources in charity work. She played a significant role in the children international-a non-governmental organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights of children worldwide. Debbie was also involved in the pediatric Aids Foundation and the Red Cross clothes drive.
